I booted Linux from floppy and it looks like /dev/hda4 is still there (mounted it as /newroot). So I booted again from floppy and used /dev/hda4 as the root device and all seems well. Another thing is that the Syquest drive not makes a funny noise after I put a disk in, then it spits the disk out. Can computer hardware be cursed? Tim Swenson
