Thanks Richard Yes the drive is working ok again but now that I know it failed once I'm reluctant to live with it for much longer. I looking to put stuff the Q40 full of hard drives and duplicate everything from drive to drive sort of belt,braces,chastity belts, hernia supports. All the best for 2002 to everyone - Bill
