Ah the old 'change the file system' thing. Whilst I agree and, always 
have, that the current system is restrictive any change would probably 
make the new system unusable for a large number of current QL people who 
rely on older, unsupported, software. The changes proposed were mainly 
to support 'ported' LINUX programs and, if you are already running LINUX 
to run UQLX why run the programs under SMSQ/E ?

Well at the moment it is a nice toy but not supported by the current 
window manager or any programs so not much gain there then.

And we do not have that anyway. Again a spurious argument because you 
are running UQLX under LINUX which has all of this. If you are proposing 
Internet and browsing on a standard QL however you don't need a licence 
change.
