Hi Dave I was using a 2.2 Gb drive on my Q40 and it was plenty, so sort of assumed this would be ok for QPC, I have a 40 Gb drive in the PC and it has almost 30 GB free. I formatted the .win file to 2000 and it has worked, well this is probably more than I really need, thinking about it maybe I need to think out just what I need from QPC, the Q40 had on it a lot of jpeg's from my digi camera ( also on my PC for safety and to be sure to be sure burnt onto a CD, so I think my mind set needs a purge ( render unto Ceaser and all that ). Yes I think I'll sleep on it, tomorrow I'm into wallpaper unfortunately not the screen type but the up a ladder type ( cut and paste though ) (:-) Still wonder if there is any reason for the format failure, maybe a limit to block size or something ? thanks for your reply All the best - Bill
