Using my acorn I formatted 2 new floppies DOS 1.44MB (they came Mac
formatted, which made them cheaper) then added lxx and vmlinux to disk 1,
and ramimg5_gz to disk 2. I put them in my just fitted (to the Q60)
brand new slimline floppy drive, so that I can fix the CF's C/H/S now
that I have a short cable. The expensive drive then died on me! So my
question is, if you connect a floppies data cable around the wrong way
will it destroy a slimline drive and what is the case for normal drives?
My QLs seem to eat floppy drives for breakfast, I have lost 9 drives
so far. Am I right in think as someone told me that the red end of the
data cable should be near the power cable. This is the case on the Acorn
I am writing this on, but not the slimline drive cable adapter.
