This is starting to exclude just too many of us.

The qx0 versions already have routines that make use of 68040 specific instructions.
They compile fine right now.

Just what are we talking about? The new WMAN does work on a GoldCard (as said 
earlier).

Programs that use the new facilities can also run on a GoldCard, or an Atari. You just 
don't get the many colours, which these machines are unable to display...
