What I wrote is not so focused on me, but on the general user. I'll make do 
with QLandkarte GT, or even manually with gmt or mkgmap. Many users managed to 
extract a submap with QLandkarte GT, but we won't be able to rely on this app 
in the future, as it's not actively developed any more. And I don't believe 
many users will manage to do that job with mkgmap or gmt. 

What worries me is that in the future we'll no longer have an open source 
option to do what we did with QLandkarte GT, and to me that's a pity.
