Hi Wolfgang

The map should be always visible in the lower zoom levels. And you can enforce 
visibility in the properties.


If your map has overviews QMS will report something like 

2017-08-06 13:46:46.504 [debug] VRT: try to open "/home/MapRoom/
Pustertal_50K.vrt" 


Note the "has overviews true"
