the easiest way to get mx1 to check for valid recipients is to upgrade from Qmail to Qmail-LDAP and point it to the same directory as pop. As for rate limiting, I use the standard features of OpenBSD, but iptables might have something similar (I didn't investigate). Best, --Toni++
