DHCP does NOT change your ip adresse if the lease hasn't expired.
it is reliable, because I can say that my machine won't go down longer
than half an hour

it is neither reliable nor cost effective.
maintancing your computers that way, that they don't go down cost
nothing. trusting someone else than yourself isn't reliable either.
