for user list administration I set up a 'lists' virtualdomain (outside of vpopmail) and use ezmlm-web (http://rucus.ru.ac.za/~guy/ezmlm/#ezmlm-web) to allow users to manage their own mailing lists. It's pretty slick and can take advantage of most, if not all of the features ezmlm-idx provides.
