Derrell, That sounds like a great idea, and I'll see if I can get it to work.
I was already working on a bash script for trying the alias setting, which I call with .bash.qooxdoo at my command line when I open the Qooxdoo development terminal window. I'll just swap the current alias lines for the QOOXDOO variable code and path modification, create the "python" script, and see if it flies. That seems like it will do the trick. I do appreciate your insight into the issue - I can't be the only guy with a system Python version that conflicts with my newer Python for Qooxdoo, can I? Thanks again, Gene On Sat, 2009-05-23 at 22:49 -0400, Derrell Lipman wrote: > On Thu, May 21, 2009 at 4:53 PM, Gene Amtower <[email protected]> > wrote: > > > In a related issue, my local RedHat environment has a system > dependency on an older Python version, and I've had to edit > critical Qooxdoo files with a custom Python version each time > I've downloaded it in order to use the newer Python I > installed specifically for Qooxdoo.
