Thomas, You're probably right about this. I know what you mean about the apache and apache2 bundles, but Python serves as a foundation for much of the OS utilities, making it a little different situation than the Apache bundles. On the other hand, we probably have the following working in our favor...
>From what I've read, Python 3.x is a drastic change from Python 2.x, so the same thing that makes it difficult to port the Qooxdoo toolchain to Python 3.0 will make it equally difficult for the Linux world and the OS vendors to port the support tools for the OS over to Python 3.0. So, we may luck out and not have Python 3.0 become the default python version for Linux systems for quite some time. The Python development community may be required to use Python 3 as an additional install on their systems in order to gain the advantages of the newer python. So, they'll need to worry about it more than the Qooxdoo development community. Lucky us! Hip-hip-hooray!
