The M2 build just finished, all tests passed with Sun's 1.6 JVM.

What do we want to do with the release of M2, I assume that we want it
to also
work under 1.5 (Sun). If it is a JVM issue, do we go ahead and vote the
M2 release?

We have had various issues, some of which were certainly bugs and race
conditions in the Qpid code.

It appears on our continuous build that we do still have at least one
threading issue that is causing intermittent failure (hanging during
tests, but the JVM on 1.6 remains responsive and we can get thread
dumps). I think that we need to get consistently passing test runs on
M2 to be able to release M2 Java with confidence.

For the JVM issue I will let the list know as soon as I have
confirmation from Sun that this is definitely the JVM bug I posted
above. If it is, I will get details about the nature of the failure,
how likely it is to occur outside of our test cases and whether there
are any workarounds.

Sun will provide me with a patch of course (which presumably other
customers who have paid for support will be able to acquire), but I
will also find out the release schedule for 1.5 should no workarounds
be available.

Thanks - keep us posted - we are now green for M2 on the the RH build server.

If I see a failure on a rebuild, I will post it
Carl.
