Indeed, you could make arguments for RHEL, SLED/SLES and probably others too. Since Ubuntu seems to be the preferred flavour in the CI system (which I have nothing to do with, BTW), my intention is to suggest that at least for that, we should really be supporting one of the longer lived versions. *Hopefully* that will help also keep things working for the longer lived versions of other distros too, but it is by no means a guarantee.
