I agree,
He could have comfortably stayed at home in his condition and might 
still be alive if he hadn't put himself through what must have been an 
extremely difficult lifestyle to be on stage in the public arena 
championing for research and quality of life issues whenever he could.
His selfless sacrifice has had an impact on the way many now view those 
of us with a wheelchair for legs.
His role of "superspokesperson" overshadowed that of "superman"
