Stacey,   I don't use public transportation but we do have a handicap service that is run by the city bus service that will bring your door to door for only $2 as of a year ago.  My license was about to run out before I started my driver training.  I had no trouble renewing my license and I did not even need any restrictions on it because it's pretty obvious that I'm not going to be able to get behind the wheel of a normal vehicle without major modifications.  It was my choice after I took my drivers training to take a drivers test to have restrictions put on my license.  I saw no reason to do this and there is no law in Minnesota stating that I need to do this so I never did.   Jim
