I can't believe all of the transportation problems you've had. Worst of of all you have a VAN!!!!! FYI, I knew a VR counselor that paid to repair a car for a client of mine, that was about 5 yrs ago, but it happened.
They can certainly be more autonomous than they lead you to believe. VR should definitely be paying for your transportation, here they will give clients a voucher to use with the van company. AS far as I'm concerned that transport company needs to be sued for charging you more because you need door-to-door. But you know that ;-) I remember going to school and having to fight so many things, it is very exhausting, but will pave the way for someone else. You did the right thing by calling your State Rep, that should get things going. This is absolutely ridiculous. You have my empathy, sympathy and, prayers.
