David,
While I appreciate your comments and definitely feel that everyone should be worried or at least informed on what is going on with the Social Security program, I also would like to wait for the bill to come before Congress before I start lobbying my Representative. A local Florida Congresswoman, Ginny Brown Wade (spelling), essentially said the same thing the other night. She cannot support or oppose any legislation until she has seen all the details and can gauge the potential impact on all of the citizens. Much of the speculation and posturing is premature right now.
Having laid all that out, as it stands now I am not in favor of the president's current program. That is definitely my opinion and I have heard some other opinions which make sense, but I just don't seem to be able to support their positions.

Hi Stacy,I'm not over 55 and I don't get SSI, so the changes in SS will affect me. And even if you are on SSI or over 55, taking 2-3 trillion out of any program will affect the amount of benefits that program will be able to cover, so benefits could be lowered or cut. With Love,

Also according to his plan, it is only people that want to have the government invest the money for you. It will not be a mandatory thing.Stacy----- Original Message -----From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Friday, February 04, 2005 4:00 PMSubject: [QUAD-L] social securityHow will the presidents plan affect our Social Security?
