Hi, my name is Dan also......and yes urologists do seem to contradict themselves and seem incompetent at times  lol,  I  have had a supra pubic for about 4 years, when the doc 1st talked me into getting it he said i could go up to 2 or 3 months between cath changes--but after it was done he said oh no change it about once a month... in the 1st year or so it clogged a few times and my wife would irrigate it or change to a new one. Last few years it has worked pretty well changing once a month.......We have lots of problems with UTI's tho, so good luck with that part.                                                Dan.
