Hi Dan,

I had a Supra Pubic for about fifteens years and I change it every
month, I have tried going long but it ends up getting blocked up.
Therefore, my recommendation would be to change it at the first of every
month. Also I use a 24 french if that any help.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Supra Pubic

Hi All,

Been awhile since I've been on this list. looks like a lot of folks are
missing. Breezy, Keith, the dude that had to move to a nursing home when
his parents were no longer able to take care of him, many more i can't
think of right now - what happened to them?

Anyhoo, I've just been introduced to a Supra Pubic - graduated from a
Foley. The more I deal with Urologists, the more incompetent they seem
to be. My first Uro said to change it every 3 months - #18 French. After
2 and 1/2 months I called him to say that something was wrong. I was
passing very little urine and what I was passing was very clear - not
junky as usual. Worse part, my abdomen was extremely distended and if I
strained to have a bowel movement, I would pass urine through my penis!
He said -'that's odd. I'll have a look........next week!?!' The next day
I was in the emergency room with a blocked cath and they couldn't remove
it because it had been it so long it had collected deposits on the end
of the cath that wouldn't let it pass through the stoma. Back in goes
the Folely. My new uro says - 'never go longer than 1 month between
changes'. Have you SP's out there ever experienced anything like this?
