Dan, that's fine. Your friend made his own choice not to continue living in that condition after it had happened to him. I fully support that right. I did say, "many (maybe most) decide they want to continue living", not necessarily all. If my quality of life was different I might chose not to continue living either.

In a case where there is a question as to what an individuals wishes are and they are unable to express what their wishes are then we should error on the side of life.
