Hi Luck,

I think your outlook on life is great.  I'm not going to say you won't face challenges because you have a great outlook, but it's going to help you face them.  I think you are saying what I believe most of us here would agree with, and that is that every case is different, just as every person is different.  Yes, we do share somethings that others may never understand, but each of us are different and are living different lives.  Depression is different than living with a SCI, and should be treated that way.  Living with a SCI is hard.  Living with a SCI and depression is a nightmare that can be helped with the proper treatment.  I'm glad your little brother stopped you from doing something while depressed that you would never think of doing because you have challenges in your life.  Stay strong.

i'm 22, 5 yrs post, live with my mom, out in the middle of nowhere (no neighbors).  i rarely see my friends(they are all in college).  broke up with my girlfriend of almost 4yrs about 2yrs ago.  i am a virgin.  i have pain, spasms, infections, facial numbness, no shock absorbers on my chair (w/ only a small area of cement, the rest is off-road bumps), severe to moderate osteoporosis, problems sleeping but when i do i wake up with back braking spasms, people to call, school stuff.

i call all of this stuff a challenge.  if things get worse then i challenge myself to except it and move on.
