Freddie James Prinze, Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California on March 8, 1976. His father lovingly nicknamed him "Pie," because he was so cute. Unfortunately, Freddie Prinze, Sr.'s life - as well as Freddie's imperative time with his father - was cut short, when senior passed away when Freddie jr. was only ten months old.
On January 28, 1977 at his Beverly Comstock Hotel room, Freddie Prinze, Sr. reportedly called his family, friends and managers and said good-bye to them all. He wrote a suicide note that read "I must end it. There is no hope. I will be at peace. No one had anything to do with it. My decision totally..... Signed, Freddie Prinze". Manager Dusty Snyder was present, and evidently tried to talk to Freddie, but little is known as to the exact events that occurred, as Mr. Snyder's recollections are hazy. Freddie, who was under the influence of Quaaludes, had shot himself. He was kept on life support and was in critical condition until January 29, 1977 when his parents decided to take him off of the life support. He was then pronounced dead.

that's your diagnostic phrase that is incredibly shallow. it's like you think you know everyone's situation and on top of that, you write off depression as a non-real ailment. or at least that no quad here on a vent, completely immobile has any right to be depressed. you think depresasion is linked to the underpriviledged? do you remember freddy prinze or curt cobain blowing their brains out? i wouldn't consider them underprivilidged - but i WOULD class them as severely depressed. blanket ALL and NEVER statements are very foolish to blurt out. they can also be very hurtfull to some. your psycho-diagnosis is not why we are here.

I was just trying to convey that our often self diagnosed depression is merely the lack of knowing what is possible to do in life anymore. None of us here are professionals, that I know of, so anything that is said is just an opinion and a way that each of us deals with things.
I apologize if it was a shallow opinion, but I don't believe that dwelling on the negative can bring about positive results. Who would Bobbie miss? Maybe the diverse and sometimes ridiculous discussions on this group? I don't know. But, the best way I know to help someone who's depressed is to not focus on their depression. Get them involved in something, get them pissed enough about something that they want to do something, whatever works to get the person back into the life that surrounds us all.
You may or may not ever take me serious again, but that is for you to decide. I care what people think and would like to know how you came to your conclusions about my comments below.
what an incredibly shallow response... this reads like "i'm not depressed so you have no reason to be depressed either" you remind me of carol of new york who said, "why don't you all drop your petty bitches and concentrate on getting better, and walking"
it will be hard to take you seriously ever again.

We all have ups and downs, but our ups and downs are nothing.
Definitions of depression on the Web:

Depression is when you become so self-involved that all you see is yourself and no one else.
My cure for depression: Find something that has nothing to do with how you benefit yourself and go do it. There is always someone or something worse off than yourself. If you cannot think of things to do at your level, then ask. I'm certain each of us can come up with at least three things that you can go do.
Yes, i'm sure at times we all have felt that way, but even with all our problems, we survive like kings compared to quads in some other poor nations....I have seen programs on T.V. where quads and para's do not have hardly any help and no wheelchairs of ANY kind....They are so poor people place them in wagons and pull them to get them around. And though life is tough for us think of these poor mizerable souls. We just got to try and get by the best we can until our creator decides our time on earth is finished. I go thru highs and lows a lot, I think we all do....you'll be in my prayers.
