I attached 2 pics of me with the following email but don't think the quad list loop liked it so here's the email alone.

Hi Greg,

I live in a huge "area" consisting mostly of residential homes.  Neighborhood after neighborhood and most have "many" cul-de-sacs or small streets that branch off a bit bigger street and have only 5-12 homes on the lil street.

ANYWAY ... in my own lil subdivision I can cruise around for a long time.  Traffic is very low but I pass many walkers, joggers, bikers on my trips so if I needed something I know someone will come along soon.  PLUS ... EVERYONE says hiya.  Unlike the northeast.

But the best part of my area in north Tucson is that sidewalks are everywhere (but I stay on the street as the ka-thuds hurt my back) AND, along the busier streets ... there are fully paved side paths for bikers.  Signs even point out 'biker rout.'  But it's for walkers, joggers, etc too.  So no matter where I am in an 8 mile by 8 mile radius (AT LEAST) I always have somewhere to wheel to with my doggie.

IF I got stranded (w/c battery low, etc) ... my husband has a good idea where to find me.  So I go quite far.  I hope when we move that we find such a walker's paradise.  Also ... within my neighborhood but .7 miles away (20 minute w/c cruise whith stops on the way) is a cute park to go to.  Pic attached.

SOME quads are fearful to go hardly anywhere alone.  And enough could go wrong for me but hubby knows where I am and I enjoy Tucson's awesome weather and sky-views.

Here's ONE house of hundreds of thousands http://www.tucsonproperties.net/homes/2527399%20103%20E%20Atelier%20Way%20Oro%20Valley%20Arizona%2085755.htm  <--- I stay on the street while doggie walks on the sided curb.  There are nice smooth BIG curbcuts at every corner.

Unsure why the mountains look so washed out in the one pic ... maybe a hazy day.

How far do you guys dare to drive your chairs away from your houses?
When I moved, I really wanted to move to a place by a big park with trails, etc. My sister had lived in a planned community that had trails throughout the neighborhood that connected parks, etc. That was my big must have. But the house I found did not have that, but was to good a deal to pass up. One house had everything I wanted, right next to this huge park that went forever, but the house was too small. But now the city is building this trail that goes for like 15-20 miles, it is a jogging trail / equestrian trail (half paved half compact clay. Anyway, it looks like it will be about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from me. Once I get a cell phone I can use and my new chair back from the shop, I might try going to it alone. I rarely go anywhere by myself. Partly nowhere to go, partly afraid what if my chair died. I go up to the new park down the street, but it's just a big open park with a paved walkway to the kids play area. I often take my niece there. I live in a suburb of mostly just houses, but the new freeway has brought lots of stripmalls. There is not much land left, but around the corner is about a 10 acre lot. I'm hoping something cool will go in, not just more houses.
Greg
