Dear Lori, Dan and Quadlist,
pervasive uti's are a terrible annoyance to say the least. I have had
>12 during my nearly 4 years of paralysis, but have always been able to
abate with cipro (which works better than levaquin for me)
d- mannose and macrobid 100 mg twice a day. Since I began the mannose
and the macrobid as a prophylactic app 6 months ago, my bladder has
behaved VERY well. I loathe the idea of taking antibiotics every day,
but being uti free is great.
My question is one of curiosity about the types of bugs that have
attacked your bladders in a manner far more seriously than I have ever
experienced or imagined. Any advice on how to avoid these seemingly
difficult uti's or what makes folks have a propensity for these types of
uti's.
Your thoughts are much appreciated.
Brien
