Hi Sandy,

You are right about some folks not wanting to work holidays, so I try to make
them nice for my PCA. I am on the Texas CBA Program. As for as what my
Agency's responsibilities are to have my Aide here, are the same on a holiday
as on a regular day. My Aide must call the agency at 8 a.m. each day from my
phone, if she doesn't call in the state requires the agency to have another CBA
qualified Aide here in 2 hours or they start getting fined. Too many fines and
the agency can loose their license. I don't have to worry about having
someone here, that's the agency's job.

    With Love,

      Hey all,
I rely on agency help for all my care. Of course nobody wants to work on
major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, especially with
the agency. Do any of you use agencies that guarantee coverage or is your
coverage ultimately your responsibility? What do you do when you have nobody?
The holidays are suppose to be happy times but it's tough when you don't have
the help you need.
