Hi Dillon, Illness such as skin breakdown and repeated UTI's can add to
outlook and be depressing.....Have you found any seating to help prevent the
skin troubles? When I was in intensive care and 1st injured they did not turn
me much and I got 2 pressure sores, after I got well from that I use a high
profile Roho cushion-- so far in 9 + years no more skin trouble--I do try to
bend over towards knees or from side to side and lay back from time to time
during the day for extra pressure relief. The UTI part I still struggle with
but I had a large bladder stone removed at end of January and I hope that will
stop them for a while, As all on the list say, drink lots of water. As far as
activity's some church groups are great and have wonderful people..I go to one
called New Life about 6 miles from me. If you don't go to one you may try a few
in your area and see how they are...Mine even all chipped in and helped me to
get my chevy astro van that I now get around in.
Anyway--time to for me to quit rambling -- good luck and hang Tough !
                                   Dan H.

Though I'm sure my story is not unique especially when considering this group,
I would like to know how all of you have stay connected, become involved both
vocationally and socially. Since my injury, I have struggled to feel
productive. Mainly due to frequent skin breakdown and illness, I have had to
postpone or even cancel many activities I had wished to become involved. The
same story goes for developing social relationships.

Again, I know that I am not alone and do not pity myself or spent sleepless
nights crying "why me". Maybe you can offer advice to me on what you have done
or experienced that might help me.

  Trying to get connected

  Thanks.
