As most people on here know, I live in Tampa. I have been watching this
video for the last two days and have been fielding calls from my family and
friends around the neighborhood.

They especially while my outlook as I was a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper
in St. Petersburg for a little more than a year back in the 80s. They know
I have dealt with taking disabled people in jail and wanted to hear my
outlook. Frankly I think the Florida Attorney General had the exact same
reaction I had.

What I wanted to know immediately was why this particular sheriff's deputy
was not charged. If this had been some regular citizen dumping a deputy on
the ground, they would have been in cuffs lickety-split. While I understand
the complexity of trying to search someone who is wheelchair-bound and
knowing that some people fake paralysis in an effort to get out of going to
jail, I think it was patently obvious that this particular individual had
been paralyzed for quite some time.

Even Governor Charlie Crist has weighed in on this particular issue.

wanted to bring this to light to make sure it doesn't happen again.
