My advice is KISS keep it simple stupid J

You don’t mention how old you are, but whenever possible a avoid operations.
As a fairly high quad, anytime you have to go under anesthesia you run the
risk of an emergency tracheotomy.

Google colostomy and you’ll get lots of information. If you’re having lots
of trouble with your bowel program, just ask this informative list, and
someone will probably have some good advice for you. It’s definitely a major
surgery, and in the end run only your gastroenterologist will be the one to
contact and see if this is necessary for your case.

Good luck

Subject: [QUAD-L] colostomy

This is Mike, C-5, 31/2 years. I live in a convescent home and had to go to
the hospital 3 days ago in case I went into DR. One of the nurses asked if
I had ever considered a colostomy to handle my bowel care. What are the
pros and cons on this procedure? Thanks
