Sarla----- How can you tell when his pseudomonas needs to be treated?? My prior
3 times i needed IV drugs-- I got really sick and weak, plus had severe A.D.
This time I got chills and sweats and was put on 3 different oral antibiotics
over last 2 months. I feel fairly good now, but just finished the last
antibiotics yesterday, and are waiting for culture results.
thanks for your help, Dan H.

          Hi
my husband has pseudomonus colonized in the suprapbic cath & the
tracheostomy .he has been treated many times in the past 2 years now we
generally dont try to treat pseudomonus unless there are defenite signs of
infection.we change the tracheostomy & suprapubic cath every 6 wks .I preffer
picc line at home rather than the hospital because chances of getting
infection are much greater at the hospital than at home Usually after the 7 to
10 days of treatment we wait a few more days then remove the picc line
permanent port might be an option for you hope this answers few of your
questions
  sincerely
  sarla
