Thanks Matt,

We agree with you. Life is tough enough, but when power is lost.. so are so
many other things.
If one is disAbled or has a disAbility and survives on power, it is indeed
very important to have a generator on hand for these unnatural conditions that
hit once every 10+ years. We got our gasoline 6500 watt generator after a
surprise storm two years ago and didn't use it for 18 months. It sat in a box
as we enjoyed no interruptions in service.
Last August changed that. We were without power for 10-20 minutes, but our
neighbors (400) across the street were without power for 12+ hours and more
neighbors to our north were out about 12 hours too. Here we were with a
generator, but we had power. By the time we got our generator out of the box,
assembled and on line, most of our neighbors had theirs in operation and
working. We have loaned out the generator a couple more times to family
members and
used it recently when our house power was upgraded. It sits in the garage,
with an empty fuel tank and empty carb and a cover, waiting for its next use.

Those without, should consider such a device and if you have one, keep it
dry until you need it.
stale gas in the carb or fuel tank causes more damage then it helps.

A natural gas generator with auto-crossover switch is ideal but expensive.
Keep us posted with your area and...
Best Wishes

Yes Wheel,

We live in Puryear, Tennessee just south of Murray,KY and we got a lot of
damage here and north.
Lost power all day Tuesday and some Wednesday, getting a generator this year
for sure.
It's suprising how much we take our power, heat, water, tv, radio, pc for
granted.

We grill-heated our coffee water, grilled toast, grilled food, glad we had
the grill and also
kept some warm with our propane fireplace, used kerosene lamps, gotta luv
camping in Winter!
Hooking up a Pellet stove in these next few days too.

Went to Walmart in Paris yesterday and it was covered over with shoppers
from everywhere.
West KY north of us over to Paducah and outlying areas might be without
power for weeks they say.
Looking forward to spring!

I am right in the middle of the worst of it. Areas and counties all around
me are still without power. God must be watching over this old quad. I lost
power for about 30 min. Amazing. Six people have died from carbon monoxide
poisoning.

There are still those in Kentucky without power and may still be without
power for 10 days.
That has to have a nasty effect on those in powered wheelchair and others
who are home
bound. I'm looking at 35 degrees while I know those in Kentucky at still
facing 20+ degrees
as utility workers are working around the clock in their attempt to restore
7000 lines that need
replacement. I know here when it happen, there were people that risks their
lives in trying to salvage
anything they saw laying on the ground and considered it junk, scrap and
salvaged wire. This requires
new line which needs to be ordered, shipped to site before installation.
This takes more time, while it affect those without power. I truly hope that
is not the case.

Best Wishes
