do you have anyone they can do an emergency catheter change? This is what I'd do if I am unable to clear the catheter by irrigation. Also we try kneading the catheter to see if we can get some of that mucus and grit to move down the catheter. There are those occasions, however, when even this doesn't work. The VA gave me a Tumie (spelling?) Syringe so I could have someone try to break through the mucus. It's not always successful, but it does work better than normal irrigation.
Just thought I'd pass on what worked for me when I was having a problem. I'm glad your problems seem to have been eliminated.
