Aside: I use an electric blanket in bed, and set to level 2 (out of 10) its perfect. Warm, but never hot (as long as my bedroom is cool, anyway). Sorry, but i'm not sure what its power consumption is.
I would think that this USB blanket would NOT be a problem, considering its powered by 2 USB plugs, each of which put-out only 5 watts! I'd think safety isn't the issue, but whether its even effective is ...but for $30, definitely worth a try.
