I have known this man who is approximately a functional t-4 paraplegic from a gunshot wound for ten years. His wife left him years ago for a chiropractor and he moved in with his elderly mother. She turned 84 and evidently couldn't do anymore bowell routines or showers for her son. He got a colostomy bag installed, as well as a foley. This helped his mother manage him for awhile but he got a couple pressure sores on his buttocks from lack of pressure relief and few if any showers. His brothers and sister conspired against him with a plan to take him for a "ride" that consisted of loading him up and dropping him in the front waiting area of a nursing home here in an outskirt community of St. Louis. He met a woman that was a "friend" that wrote checks and cleaned out his entire checking account . The money was written to the "friends" sister in an attempt to help him supposedly hide his money from the Medicaid spendown. Once the nursing home figured out what was going on they sent him to another nursing home. The paralyzed man doesn't know where he is and all he can tell me is there is no one white there and his power chair is in the hallway. Upon asking to get out of bed on several occasions he has been denied. His television set was stolen during the night by a large woman. His foley was ripped out of his penis on accident by one of the male attendants that speaks very little English. I talked to him during the night and told him to call paraquad or the local independent living center and explain his life is in danger. Im not sure what else I can tell him to do. He is trying to figure a way to commit suicide as well. Ron
