We had a huge storm 2 nights ago. 5 minutes after I go to bed, a big crack and
power goes out. It was a "micro burst". We get these small, but powerful wind
bursts. Knocked over 5 or 6 power poles, lots of trees, some tipped over with
the root ball, others split in half.
I use a circulating air mattress so the motor goes out. I can't lay long on the
wrinkled up plastic. So I had to get up.
Luckily earlier that week, I was thinking what would I do if the motor burned
up. So I bought a 6 inch thick memory foam mattress, tat I could use in a
pinch. It arrived earlier that day.
My bed is too tall for my lift if I leave it under my regular mattress, so it
was still wrapped up in the garage. I had to get up and switch them.
But going to bed with no TV or light of any kind. It's is hard for me. So I
turned my Kindle on. Luckily it was only out for 4 hours. Others were out more
than 24 hours.
I'd go to a hotel if my power was out that long.
