Earlier in February Dave Krehbiel asked if anyone has ever tried the Amazon
Echo. I have! I purchased it last year. Gosh... probably at least 8 months
ago or longer. I LOVE IT! As a music LOVER I just ask it to play any song,
artist, album, and that is exactly what it does! It has awesome sound for
music! All voice controlled/operated, and it does not have to be programmed
to any one person's voice -- it will respond to any voice.

Further, it gives me the weather locally, just for the day or if I ask it
for the seven-day forecast. Or, I can ask if the local weather or seven-day
forecast in any town or city around the world, and it will tell me. It will
tell me the national weather for the day. If I ask it to. I can adjust the
volume all by my voice as well.

It will read audio books to you if you are a member of audible.com to
download the books you want.

I also purchased the "WINK hub" to go along with it to try it out to see
how it works to operate things in my home. So far I have tried my bedroom
lamp. I had to purchase a certain GE lightbulb and put it in my bedroom
lamp and all I have to say to the unit is "Turn bedroom lamp" for it to
turn the lamp on, or "Turn bedroom lamp off" to have it turn the bedroom
lamp off.

I can add items to my grocery list (as it operates off an app on your smart
phone) if I so desire or set a timer for it to ring to remind me of
something after a certain period of time. Using the WINK hub you can set it
to operate anything in your home like a ceiling fan, switches on the wall,
or open or close your blinds or open your garage door opener, etc. etc. etc.

it can easily be moved from one room to another and answer to any voice. It
can answer many many questions, play jokes, it will convert miles to
kilometers or centimeters to meters. If you want to know such stuff by just
simply asking it... it just answers you. Including converting ounces to
cups or cups to gallons, etc. if you need help in the kitchen.

I see that Alec Baldwin is now advertising it on TV. But I purchased it
long before he was doing that.

Try it, you'll like it! :-) To read more about it or watch videos about it
