Quadraphiles: Hello again. Another question: Has anyone else out there noticed that eBay pages tend to crash Netscape 4.08 and IE 3.01 more frequently than anything else?
I have written to the list several times complaining about the general bugginess of the aforementioned browsers, but I only recently made the connection that it is almost invariably eBay pages, particularly Checkout or Billpoint payment pages that have pull-downs and other gee-gaws on them (these are all JavaScript gizmos, right?) that cause the crashes. I have observed through my use of iCab's error-reporting feature (a very nice touch) that eBay pages tend to be rife with JavaScript errors, particularly those called "stack overflow" errors. Does eBay not follow standard protocols or something? Can anyone suggest ways that will make Netscape and IE deal with these issues with equanimity?
