NetBSD has floating point emulator issues on the 040. You don't need to "patch" current, though. They are less than a couple of weeks away from the release of NetBSD 1.6 (already at Beta1). It will include the IDE support (though I don't know if it will be in the default kernel... Yes and no. The 630s and their brethern implemented a sort of "plug-in" architecture. The only internal tap for the SCSI bus is the CD-ROM bay. To connect that, you need a set of adapters which plug onto the drive's connectors and mate with a matching slot at the back of the bay. IIRC, someone did sell an adapter to let you install a SCSI hard drive, but at the cost of the internal CD-ROM. > Couldn't this machine use an LC ethernet card to get connected under NetBSD? The former were seen with the 'ae' (Apple Ethernet) driver, the latter with the 'sn' (Sonic) driver.
