Both Claris and AppleWorks have tolerable spreadsheets, but I really prefer
Excel 4 or 5.  WordPerfect has no comparison among major word processors; some
prefer Nisus Writer but I doubt you'll find anyone who really likes the WP
component of any Works program or really prefers a pre-6 version of Word to
WordPerfect.

AW5 is marginally better than CW4 for the simple reason that it has better
interoperability with the latest AppleWorks, so in theory, you can exchange
files through it with the latest OS X version without any problems.  Might be
handy.
