Below quoted from the "Read Me" from an AOL disk. Looks like version 3
would be OK. It is a "Fat" application, as I recall.

I can send the file as an attachment if you want. The installer is a 5.8
meg file.

---------------
There are two installer files on this disk:

*Install AOL 3.0.1 (PPC and 68K)
*Install AOL 2.7 (68K)

If your Macintosh meets the following requirements, use the Install AOL
3.0.1 installer file.

System Requirements for AOL version 3.0.1 for Macintosh:

 * 68030 CPU   (68040 or better recommended)
 * 640x400 Resolution, 256 Colors or shades of gray
 * System 7.1.0 (System 7.5.3 Revision 2 or later recommended)
 * 8 MB Physical RAM (16 strongly recommended)
 * 15 MB Free Space on Hard Drive
 * 9600 bps modem (14.4 or 28.8 kbps modem strongly recommended, direct
TCP/IP is supported)

If you have less than 16 MB of Physical RAM, you must turn on Virtual
Memory (see instructions below) or use RAMDoubler.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
