Welcome to the Mac world, man!

Boot up your Mac (w/ all of the extensions ON) and look for the "After Dark" 
control panel, usually installed in the Apple Menu. If not there, search for 
it using "Find File"...

The control panel for After Dark, once opened, should give U the option of 
turning it on and off.... short of that, U could also change the screen saver 
to something less annoying, OR throw it away!
