We will certainly have single core 500MHz systems shipping for many
years still.  You can only disipate so much heat with passive cooling
at 85C ambient.

No, although it someone is already happy using a socket to zebra on
one port to configure everything, any big change is likely to be quite
a hassle.  Not that things can't be improved, assuming the new way is
in fact better.
