- The focus in some of these emails on who should be a "maintainer", and

before the horse.

- The primary question is: What should the development process be?
We should figure the latter out first, before assigning people to roles.
We can't know the required roles without knowing the process.
E.g., the rounds-based process of the last couple of months to me suggests
having a person in a secretarial/administrative role to support that. One
that is more a chore than anything else, and could/should be rotated
around.
So what should the process be - without reference to specific people? Then
the roles. Then the specifics on people.
