Since Septembre, there is a good momentum thanks to Paul + Martin + people on the list.
And we can add names to that list (I'd add Timo, Joakim, Christian, and many more).
but we should not wait for the graal before doing another baby step.
No, but nor should we continue with a non-transparent and probably broken system either.
Is everyone happy with how it worked in the past?
So I am supportive on Donald getting a write access to the git trie as long as Donald keeps following 1 rule: do not push its own code if not reviewed/ack't first, even if it takes time. I saw on the list that Donald is a good citizen, so I am confident it won't happen.
If we continue with the wider community + small group of maintainers model (and I'm not convinced this is the right model - I have another in mind, but am curious to see what else people propose), I need more than just that rule. I need a commitment to:
- Working to consensus - Being able to respect the disagreement of others, staying problem-focused, and avoiding personalising (inevitable) technical disagreements + other human factor stuff. - Staying within the intersection of opinion on what is correct and allowed, especially on legal issues. regards, -- Paul Jakma [email protected] @pjakma Key ID: 64A2FF6A Fortune: I profoundly believe it takes a lot of practice to become a moral slob. -- William F.
