That would only measure droop travel* and only to the weight of the wheel and suspension within the constraints of any ARB fitted. To find out how much real travel is there you need to drop the strut *By extending the springs you will be encroaching on droop travel, however droop for a road car is not as important as compression as far as I recall. Droop travel is far more important on things such as my ex-landrover where 2 feet droop travel is quite normal.. You can infact get suspension that droops so much you cannot jack the wheel off the ground! Whilst these macho droop travels look good I'm not exactly sure they offer a great deal of benefit as there will be virtually no weight over the wheel for traction. So long as they can take the extended spring length then I think you'll be ok, you may just end up 'cocking a leg' on fast dropping corners. Steve K, Jim H and myself do it all the time ;-) Matthew
