Hi,

Simple idea/stop-gap.  Have you tried a larger diameter steering  
wheel?  My son has a slightly larger wheel on his coupe than my 2+2  
and the loads are noticeably lighter.  Also the tyres can make a  
difference.  Many cars have a selection that would increase the load  
(for other good reasons) that could be changed for the better in your  
case.
