Old Quantum did at least one 2+2 with power steering so it's certainly 
possible.
The hyraulic pump isn't a problem nowadays as many small cars use an 
electric one which can be mounted anywhere in the engine bay (or 
probably even in the boot if need be !).

Darren has fitted the electric setup from a MGF.
