Would certainly need more investigation..... I wonder if a 25mm bore MC would be ok, on the basis of 10% less travel, and similar increase in pedal pressure? or a 20mm on 10% more travel (as long as it doesn't run out of travel). Possibly the mounting holes, angle of reservoir and unions are more of an issue? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Hearne" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2009 8:26 AM Subject: [Quantum Owners] Re: Quantum 2+2 Brake Master Cylinder
A lot of KA parts seem to be from the Mk3 Fiesta and given that a Mk3 Fiesta one can be used to replace the pressed steel Mk2 one (abit with some rework of the pipes) then it wouldn't surprise me if the KA one would fit. The only thing might be the KA one might have a smaller bore, the XR2 one (in both versions) is 22.2mm, the Mk3 RS1800i has this bore and thats what i fitted to my saloon. I also used a ABS version which only has 2 outlets and split the pipes with T's where needed. (I actually split front/rear but thats another story). No idea why Ford charge so much more for the pressed steel version compared to the cast version, you'd think it would be cheaper. Oh, you might also need to adjust the pushrod length coming out of the servo. Jim susanandmartinscott wrote: > Only yesterday I was in a motor factors on the same mission.
