Hi Neil
For my sins I trackday a dolomite Sprint which I make a modified brake set up using Sierra 240mm vented brakes using 54 mm piston calipers, which are also used on XR3I and XR2 amongst others. My 2+2 has these same brakes fitted and therefore the Sierra XR4 & XR4X4 260 mm discs slip straight on together with the larger 58mm piston calipers and larger pads.(also found on 80's Granada's) However our Sprints are doing Castle Combe in 1min 30sec and weigh about 1000 kg and can brake with the best.(I can lock them up while at speed!) A Quantum weighs considerably less so why would you want bigger brakes as it all adds unusable weight.
Main point is they fit so if you think they are needed go for it.
Looking forward to tracking the 2+2 but there are a few jobs to do to make it worth, as the last time I tried at Combe it overheated slightly and I backed off.
Cheers Jon

Second approach, then, is what *hubs* might fit the Fiesta Mk2
suspension struts and ball-joint? I'm wondering about a later Fiesta,
Escort, or maybe even Focus hub? I'm looking for something that will
accept a bigger brake calliper and disk in a 15" wheel, and I'm really
not au fait with Ford bits and bobs... The driveshaft is not an issue,
since I'm making one up anyway to meet the Fiat flanges.

I didn't think anything else fitted in the Fiesta hub carrier.
Is there a part number on the hub casting ?

Unfortunately Microcat doesn't list the splines for Escort parts.
